Three Families Flee Jamestown Fire
A Jamestown fire left three families temporarily homeless after a two story brick and wood house burned. Firemen from five companies battled flames driven by 25 mph winds. The blaze was discovered by Glenn Saxton as smoke billowed from windows during dinner. The Saxtons and the Howard and Garner families escaped with minimal injuries as the upstairs residents fled through thick smoke. Total damage and insurance coverage were not yet estimated.
