Baker's Att'y Links Kerr to Funds in Tax Case
In Washington, attorney Edward Bennett Williams argued that Baker gave about $100000 in late 1962 campaign contributions to Sen. Robert Kerr for distribution among Democrats. Williams contended Kerr later died with much of the cash in his Washington safe, while Baker maintained he overpaid taxes and did not steal funds. The trial nears day ten as Kerr is portrayed as a key ally in Baker's defense.
