Erie Police Tighten Net On Kidnaper

Erie police state they are near an arrest in the December 28 kidnapping of a Conneaut woman. Gary Leech, year old, of Erie and formerly Union City, is wanted by Conneaut police on kidnapping charges and by state probation for parole violations and the FBI for unlawful flight. Det. Lt Charles McCurdy said he urged Leech to surrender after a 50 minute phone call.

Blaze Damages Jamestown Post Journal Building

Jamestown fire crews battled a Saturday night blaze at the Jamestown Post Journal. The fire started in the stereotype room on the third floor and spread to an adjacent advertising alley. Smoke filled most of the building with water damage in the library and art department areas.
