Bear Lake residents Mr and Mrs Enoch B Cornish Sr were honored yesterday with an open house for their 50th wedding anniversary. The event drew many friends and relatives at their home from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
A surprise birthday party was held Saturday evening at the Blue Eye home for Miss Donna Spoon who turned 18 the day before. Ten friends attended and enjoyed light refreshments after a pleasant social evening. Miss Spoon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Spoon.
Members of the Chi Rho Society of Emmanuel Episcopal Church gathered in the undercroft last evening to process peanuts for a fundraising project. Refreshments followed before they adjourned and scheduled a return meeting for February 1.
A birthday party was given at 40 West Frederick Street on Saturday for ten year old Taree Dodd. Guests included Linda Hantin and Judy Dodd of Columbus among others. A noon lunch, decorated cake, ice cream, and favors were served before a matinee outing.
The Corry Grange No. 55 held a Saturday square dance in the IOOF Hall. The Rural Electrification Association of Camblatge Springs plans a county meeting in February in Grange rooms. The Juvenile Grange January birthday party honored members and served jollo and coffee.
Aimelia Kureloweek Gluvna was honored at a miscellaneous shower hosted by sisters and sisters in law. Mrs Mary Gluvna's home hosted about 34 friends for games and a buffet lunch, with out of town guests from Columbus and Erie. Cranberries are native to America.
Sauer Moreen an architect filed a $50 000 damage suit in Federal Court naming Dist Ally Damian McKaughlin and three others. He alleges a conspiracy to obstruct justice by violating the Civil Rights Act of 1871. Also named are Chester B Stauffer Edwin Bowes and Herbert Johnson. Morrison says he was coerced and paid a postdated check in release terms. He notified the bank to stop payment but was ignored.
In a six year old case in Chau Tama County Court Las resisted a no cause verdict after two hours deliberation. Hugh Howe of Corry sued Paul and Ethel Risley Watts Flats for 605.16 dollars claiming four head of cattle unpaid on a 770 note plus 164.84 from cattle sold to cover the difference.
