A fire at Sinnemahon ing near Ridgway Pennsylvania destroyed a home killing Mrs Jacob Smith 25 and their three children ages 6 4 and 1 The husband Tom Smithy was severely burned and died later in hospital doctors fear he may not survive An overheated stove or coal could have sparked the blaze in the early hours of the morning.
Corry native Corry Trlenils of Frederick I West brother of LoD and a Barey High School graduate, long known as a commuter of vast distances, alleges he is world champion at long distance daily travel. He cites repeated 1000 mile round trips and frequent ocean and ship routes to Pernambuco as proof of his extraordinary schedule.

Charles Lovejoy, nine, was struck and killed by a car at Lakeview Avenue and East Eighth Street. Driver Christ Pallus, of 121 Steele Street, was arrested on charges of manslaughter and violating vehicle laws after allegedly fleeing the scene. Pallus posted bail and claimed he did not realize he hit the boy.
Philadelphia reports extradition hearings for Myrtle Atkinson of Trenton Ohio charged in an underworld feud linked to the 1920 Massillon murder of Police Thomas Gwynn. Atkinson denied the charges saying authorities want her to testify against a friend. In New York stock market notes, speculation and regulatory talk flavored a mixed week with uneven activity.

Park Davis aged a0 residing on Summit row about even miles south Corey narrowly escaped death after a heavy limb struck him while cutting timber for Hampton Amber Company. Davis received a deep gash extending from above the eye to the scalp requiring fifteen stitches. Dr Majiland of Spartansboro attended. Davis rests at home today and his condition is reported as comfortable despite the narrow escape.

In Albion Michigan on January 10 a student demonstration erupted with objects hurled at President John W. Laird and a chorus of jeers as trustees opened an inquiry into charges. Washington reports heavy secrecy ahead of a plan to send American warships to Tampico amid oil interests pressuring Hughes. Officials offered little detail as cabinet members and Denby indicated statements would come later, while oil interests prepared formal remarks at a downtown hotel.

Very large attendance at St Thomas church for the funeral of Mrs Anna McCarthy. High mass by Rev Fr ME Tracey followed two solos, floral tributes and pallbearers. Relatives from Brocton New York Potsdam Buffalo Warren and Union City attended.
