Store Looted in Handcar Escape at Straight, Pa
Straight Pennsylvania January 19 store of J Hi Onion and Co was entered Tuesday by professional burglars who escaped with shoes shirts stock, flashlights, razors, candy and tobacco. They used a handcar from the Pennsylvania railroad to reach Johnsonburg then abandoned it. They pried open a vault in Quinn and Company’s office but stole only about $100 in change and some stamps from the post office. Evidence included short fuses, indicating planned assault on the safe.
