Tamed Eagle Reunited With Wildlife Center After Escape
A domesticated African tawny eagle missing for over a week was recaptured near Boxford and returned to Laughingbrook Wildlife Center. Director David Bonney said the tame bird, at least seven years old and eating raw meat, showed no killing instinct and weighed less but remained healthy. The eagle had been elusive, but a buried lasso and meat secured its capture.

Abel calls for steel import regulation to save jobs
United Steelworkers President J. W. Abel urged federal legislation to curb steel imports at a Penn State labor seminar. He cited 108,000 full time union jobs at risk and pressed for rules on import flows, fair labor standards, and worldwide marketing to ensure foreign trade is fair as well as free.
