Erie investigators pursue Esse Mae Smith Gleaton, once married to Robert Gleaton, in a murder case. They may rely on a claim that Gleaton’s current marriage is invalid if his first wife is found and not divorced, enabling Erie wife to testify as the sole eye witness to the January 2 killing.

War Bride to Fight Annulment Proceedings
British war bride Nancy Linda Kataman freed here in November on a change that she fraudulently converted 7,500 from her husband Erle and Will. She and her husband Dr. James Kateman will appear in Brooklyn court next Tuesday as annulment proceedings begin. Attorney Louis Benacci said the hearing was scheduled per Kataman’s New York counsel Joseph Tenner. The fraud charge was leveled by Erle Kataman, who claimed she used a sham heiress claim to steal 1,500 from him by posing as a claimant to a fabulous English textile fortune.
