Lieut Harvey Davis Killed in Florida Plane Crash
The Navy or Army Air Force officer Lieut Harvey Tower Davis, son of Mr and Mrs E Harvey Davis of Jamestown, was killed in a plane crash at Cross City Florida early this week after receiving his wings on December 16. He was born July 4 1918 in Jamestown New York and attended local schools graduating in 1999. He previously worked for Marian Rockwell Company of Jamestown before enlisting in January 1949. He joined the service April 11 1942 at Kelly Field Texas and earned silver wings shortly before his death, commissioned as a second lieutenant on December 16. He served with the 905th Fighter Squadron stationed at Cross City Air Base Florida. He last visited Jamestown last August between training shifts. He is survived by his parents and sister Marian of Jamestown. The funeral will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church with burial in Lakeview Cemetery after the time is announced.

Harrisburg, Jan 16. Prices of bottled milk delivered to doorsteps will rise one cent a quart in seven more Pennsylvania marketing areas on February 1 unless the OPA blocks the change.
