Jamestown police arrested Wilbur Hedlund and Alton Engwall on open charges in a January 6 7 burglary at Sterling H Stow’s hide and fur plant 67 Steele Street. About 100 dollars worth of pelts were stolen and a bag of skins left behind. The furs were later traced to Bennie Anderson who bought them with a check that was stopped.
Mrs Anna Gallagher was elected president of the Rebekah Helping Hand Club at a meeting in C Hall yesterday afternoon. Officers for the year include vice president Alice Ellsworth secretary Doris Loveland and treasurer Bertha Smith. Twenty two members attended and hostesses served lunch. The next meeting is January 29 a tureen dinner.
Members of the Erie County Volunteer Firemen's Association will meet in the city tonight as guests of the Stanford Hose Company. The association comprises volunteer firemen's organizations nationwide and a large attendance is expected. The local fire fighters will serve a light luncheon to the visitors after the business session.
Announcement of the marriage of Miss Nellie Grey daughter of Mia William Grey and J A Swarm, both of this city, took place in Warren Pennsylvania on December 31. The newlyweds reside on Bat South Street for the present. Mrs Swarm and relatives were in Warren for the ceremony.
