New York to set December milk price at 3.50 a hundredweight

New York dairy officials announced a uniform price of 3.50 per hundredweight for December deliveries from farms in the six states of the New York milk shed. The pool is expected to yield farm value around 19.34 million dollars, with December production totaling 364 million pounds, down 10 percent from 1942. Farm income should rise above 3.50 when War Food Administration dairy payments are added, and output declines reflect fewer producers and lower daily deliveries.
