Area milk firms gain price relief in Erie County case
Harrisburg reports the Dauphin County Court allowed seven Erie County dealers to pay producers 10 cents per hundredweight less than the standard 6.50 wholesale price. The order, worth 64 cents per hundredweight, remains in force until the appeal is decided or prices change on April 1. Dealers include Meadow Brook Dairy Dairyland Boone's Yaple's Erie County Milk Association and Sanitary Farms Dairy. They posted a 15000 bond to cover producers if the appeal is denied.

Meerdink 67 dies after hospital stay on farm in French Creek
John H. Meerdink 67 died yesterday at Corry Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted Monday. He lived his life on the family farm in French Creek Township and was born January 28, 1885. He served as assessor for seven years and was a member of the Marks Corners EUB Church. Survived by his wife Sara and several nieces and nephews. The body to Spitzer Funeral Home then to Marks Corners EUB Church for 2 p.m. service Friday with Rev. Leo McGaughey officiating. burial in Holland Cemetery, Clymer.
