Week of Prayer observance closes with union services
The Protestant churches in the city concluded their Week of Prayer with a union service at the First Baptist church. Rev William Hall delivered the sermon “The Sinners Last Prayer” as ministers from several churches assisted. Miss Hazell Anoney gave the invocation, Rev F A Winter read the scripture, and Rev Roger Cressey offered prayer. Though stormy weather kept some away, combined church choirs provided notable music under Mrs Ralph S Dewey, with two fine numbers performed.
