A gas heater exploded in Horace Bradshaw’s one story home in Lincoln Heights and a fast spreading blaze killed seven members of the family. Bradshaw 38 and his wife Emm were found near the rear and front doors respectively, while five children James 9 Michael 8 Mary Margaret 5 Horace Jr 3 and Debbie Jean perished in their bedrooms. Firefighters arrived about 2 30 yesterday and contained the flames within about 30 minutes.
A two car crash on Route 6 Saturday afternoon near the barracks prompted a state police investigation. Mrs May H Relinborg and Miss Carol N Hanlin were involved but none injured. about 150 damage to Relinborg car and 25 to Hanlin’s vehicle.
Corry Memorial Hospital reported 410 births in 1998 with 139 deaths, including 72 male and 67 female infant deaths under one year. The registrar notes twin births declined to four, and the year saw a net population gain of 271 when births and deaths are counted.
Four Groesbeck residents, teenagers Lewie Anthony Popejny 14 Cleman Bonner Oaks 17 Toe Gurl Pitts 17 Sammey E Shertaddy 16, died after a rear over turn in central Texas. Driver Sammey E Shertaddy 16 died later from injuries. Another local note reports Clif Myford Tyr Vine 58, grandson of a California land baron, took his own life in the Thane family mansion basement.
Corry and area residents respond to an appeal for the Krupa family whose home burned last week. Donations of clothing furniture and money pour into the Red Cross Shelter. An $80 gift arrives as the family awaits living room furniture and a dresser. The rural home near Spring Creek was destroyed by fire when a car fire caused the blaze.

Ross Fehman Morton Fromm John Cullen and Sam Borrssi were guest speakers. Six dollars were donated to the fund as sixty two people planned to add more.
Washington reports President Eisenhower will press Soviet Deputy Premier Anastas Mikoyan this week on Western resolve to keep West Berlin and a non militarized Germany. Mikoyan and Secretary Dulles held talks, with a White House meeting planned late in the week.
A West German airliner crashed on approach to Galeao International Airport in heavy rain, killing 36 aboard. Three crew members survived. among the dead are Capt. Wren Me Mains of Shinford, Cone, and Countess Marie Lena Kottulinsky of Vienna. The four engine Trirenanyi Airlines flight departed from Furone and Africa, with the crash about two miles from the airport.
Soviet deputy premier Anastas Mikoyan toured Los Angeles during a press conference and a dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel hosted by Evie Johnston. He urged removal of trade restrictions and pressed for stronger Soviet American commerce while signaling Soviet stance on international agreements.

A fog bound chain of truck crashes in Bakersfield left two dead and nine injured. A truck and trailer toppled, sparking a pileup as a second truck struck the wreckage and more vehicles collided. Eyewitnesses say several youths and adults suffered serious injuries while others escaped with lesser harm.
New owners Loray and Erwin Reed with John Reed and spouse announced they will transform the Route 6 west of Corry former Bie Barnet Ho st into Reed's Steak House. They plan an opening within three weeks with a definite date pending. The Erwin Reeds previously ran a Ripley hotel for 12 years and intend to reside at the Route 6 location.
Pittsburgh AP report says Pasquale Seulimbrone 63 shot his brother Orlando 44 and nephew Paxquat 18, then shot himself after a family dispute at the Bethel home. Young Seulimbrone, 15, claimed a gun misfired. Police say Seulimbrone then reloaded and killed himself as family members fled.
The toll in Rivadelago rises to 153 dead and missing after a dam on Lake Samabria burst inundating the village of 500 residents near the Portuguese border. Many victims are described as elderly and children.
Police and FBI traced an infant girl snatched from a hospital nine days earlier to a Brooklyn apartment. They found Chronehio baby Lisa Rose with Jean Tavarone, a 48 year old divorcee and widow, who denied the accusation and claimed the baby was hers. The infant was returned to St Peters Hospital in good condition.
A will probated in Erie County leaves an estate exceeding 100000. Three 10000 funds are directed to Harry Darling Kathryn Darling and Kathryn Bright with 100 monthly payments until exhausted. 5000 goes to Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Corry and the remaining balance to James Darling of Daytona Florida.
Blowing snow impaired visibility Saturday afternoon causing a head on collision on Scio road around 3 45. Harry Beckerink Clymer drove north and Ron ald F Faulkner 32 of R D Erie drove south a gust of wind moved snow across the highway as they met resulting in momentary blindness and a crash. Faulkner truck damage about 500. Beckerink vehicle removed by others prior to officer arrival no injuries reported in the parish.
