Tshombe Returns to Katanga After Peace Tour
President Moise Tshombe resumes residence in Elisabethville under house arrest surveillance after a peace journey to the Rhodesian border. UN officials say he cooperates but must observe the December 20 curfew and not incite Katangans as UN forces advance toward Kolwezi and Sakania. He promised to stop bloodshed and seeks negotiations for UN troop movements.

Dynamite Truck Upsets Near Barkleyville
Walter H. Brown 41 escaped with minor injuries when his 11000 pound dynamite-laden truck overturned south of Barkleyville Venango County on a slick highway. Brown was admitted to Grove City Hospital for back injuries after the wreck. Minor damage occurred to the truck but officials warned an explosion could have leveled the tiny community as Brown headed to the Tasso Coal Co.
