Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Building Blaze Disaster

Unconfirmed reports describe a major fire at Cincinnati’s Chamber of Commerce building on the southwest corner of Fourth and Vine. The flames destroyed the structure, with estimates of about 100,000 dollars in damage and injuries to several people, including six severely hurt. Witnesses say some occupants may have been trapped by collapsing walls as the West Broadway dining room and other sections burned. Firefighters suffered minor injuries as the blaze spread, and adjoining properties also sustained damage estimated around 5,000 dollars.
