Pentagon Keeps MIA Search Alive Despite Halt
The Pentagon says the effort to locate more than 1100 U.S. servicemen missing in Indochina will continue after a temporary halt following a December helicopter attack in the Mekong Delta. A spokesman cited cautiousness after the incident but denied plans to curtail the search and said diplomats will push for access to unsearched areas. He blamed North Vietnam for delaying searches and noted the main challenge is obtaining permission to search sites across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
