4000 Would Lose Day Care Center Use
Harrisburg AP Welfare Secretary Helene Wohlgemuth says Nixon rules could force up to 4000 Pennsylvania children out of day care. Centers would serve only public aid recipients or working or job training families, potentially cutting off aid for 3,000 to 4,000 low income children not in work programs. She criticizes federal cuts to elderly and disabled programs and warns many Gov. Shapp programs could close without restored funds.
