Begin City County Assessment Merger In Erie

The first step toward merging the city and county assessment bureaus occurs as former city assessor Chester Bukowski and deputy Howard Henning resign from the city payroll and become county officers. They will run both shops until the merger, which city officials say could take up to six months. Mayor Louis Tullio plans a formal announcement next month. A single office will later handle assessments for the school district city and county.
