Madeline Wegrzynick, 32, mother of two, was shot in her Windber home and died shortly after at Windber Hospital. Husband Louis Wegrzynick was taken into custody. coroner Robert Halverson reports she was shot in the shoulder and neck, and police found a pistol in the room as tear gas was used.
Emanuel Askew Jr. of East Pittsburgh recovered his stolen vehicle yesterday but it was mangled. Police report the thief damaged the car at a Baltimore Ohio Railroad crossing before abandoning it.
