NFL Gates Hit Record In 1964 Season Attendance
Miami Beach AP reports the National Football League drew a record 3,806,159 attendees across 88 games in 1964, averaging 40,670 per game. Commissioner Pete Rozelle was re elected to a new five year term at 50 000 a year. Cleveland led with 426,886, New York 423,049, Philadelphia 412,318. the biggest crowd was 80,455 in Cleveland on Nov 26. Rozelle spoke of possible expansion in two years and noted forthcoming Dallas and Minnesota franchises and new stadiums in Washington, St Louis, and Pittsburgh. The league declined proposals to raise the player limit or create an injured reserve list.

False burglary report nets area man $100 fine
Erie County Court sentenced Richard Leigh Centner, 31, former Sunnyside Restaurant operator, after he admitted stealing $138.68 from Albion restaurant and then filing a false burglary report. He pled guilty to false pretenses and filing a false crime report, receiving a $100 fine and three years on parole. Centner claimed insurance would cover the loss.

Fire destroys five downtown Brockway buildings
A downtown Brockway fire yesterday caused about 200000 in damage. Fire Chief Richard Hynds said the blaze destroyed a shoe store and the Hi Hat Bowling Lanes and damaged the Bona Vista Night Club Paris Bug Cleaning Co and the home of Jack McNulty. Firefighters from Brockway and five other communities battled the flames for four hours.
