Theft charges against Grove City driver tied to guns stolen from multiple stores. Local injuries and incidents include basketball injuries and a gun related death. Weather outlook and a 2 inch snow followed by rain.
John Eisenhower fresh from the Korean front flies to Washington for his father’s presidential inauguration. He travels on a Pan American plane chartered by MAT S and will be on 18 days temporary duty. He plans to return to Korea after the ceremony.
Governor John S. Fine urged the Legislature to raise the gasoline tax to six cents a gallon to fund highway construction. He cited a pre Korean era funding level of 124 million dollars per year, now reestimated up by about 30 million annually. Motor club officials anticipate the measure reaching the Assembly.
Walter Noakes, 32, rearrested on burglary charges after loot from an unoccupied Morrison home was found with him. Lloyd Stiffey of Nagle Road is jailed and faces a hearing before Alderman William Heisler. Noakes admitted taking part and claimed he tossed most of the items into the Millcreek Tube. Officers Troopers Penman and Lange investigated.
