Barn Fire Destroys Marsh Farm Barn and Hay
A Sunday night blaze at Leigh H. Marsh’s 190 acre Randolph Farm destroyed a 40 by 50 foot barn, 60 tons of hay, 150 chicks, and turkeys, with losses estimated at 4 000 to 5 000 dollars. The fire started from a backfire in the morning and smoldered in the hay loft before spreading, despite an early call to the Kenney fire department. The tractor, two cows, and a pony were saved, with efforts focused on saving a nearby tool shed about 40 feet away.
