Rogan Pushes Salary Basis for County Tax Collector

In RIE January meeting County Commissioner Joseph F. Rogan will seek a resolution to place the county tax collector in the city on a straight 4000 dollar yearly salary with county covering expenses. The proposal notes school tax collector earns 4200 while current county system pays up to 14000 with expenses. Rogan expects defeat similar to prior years as MacLean and Davis favor a 2 1/2 percent commission. He says the move would save money though not aimed at the present collector Emmett Parker who he will support for reappointment.
