Corry Council Approves 600000 Grant for Elderly Center
Corry City Council unanimously approves a 600000 grant from the U S Department of Commerce for a center for the elderly and a community complex, with the Corry Redevelopment Authority as coordinator and Marine Bank as depository. Construction must start by March 23 at 35 per square foot, four bids to be invited. Governor Shapp criticizes the Public Works Act funding as biased toward large cities, noting only four of 17 major cities in Pennsylvania received funds while 58 counties and smaller communities will gain some share.
