Navy to honor Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient Chaplain
The Pentagon announced Lt. Vincent R. Capodanno from Richmond County New York will receive the Medal of Honor posthumously, the second Navy chaplain to earn the award in Vietnam. Secretary of the Navy Paul R. Ignatius presented the medal at a ceremony at the Washington Navy Yard. James Capodanno accepted on his behalf.

Youngstown Schools Borrow $1.8 Million To Reopen
The Youngstown Board of Education voted to borrow 1.8 million dollars against this year’s taxes to reopen 27,000 pupils. Abe Harshman was elected president at a reorganization meeting, succeeding Dr. Earl Young. No new operating levy was proposed as six prior attempts were rejected. Hold Rites For Nellie Drake
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie M. Drake were held at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at Bracken Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Heffer officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery. Attending from away were Mrs. Eleanor Bates of Union City and Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Chelton of Barkeyville. A Staten Island, New York native is noted as a brother. The Pentagon reported the young chaplain was killed while moving around a battlefield during an attack, as fast rites were offered to dying and wounded servicemen.
