A defective chimney caused a Tuesday night blaze at the Legreys Brothers farm four miles northeast of Clymer. Ed ward Burke spotted the fire around 11 pm. 20 area firefighters fought the smoldering flames until shortly before 2 am. No injuries were reported. damage valued between $1,000 and $1,500 as the fire breached a partition and required cutting a hole in the wall.

Paroled sex offender charged in 1 year old girl murder

NORRISTOWN AP A 30 year old paroled sex offender faces a murder charge in the slaying of Maryann Mitchell a 1 year old Philadelphia girl. Police link the suspect to a watch found in a Bridgesport man s home and a blood stained car two blocks from the suspect s home. Investigators say a blood stained bumper jack with auburn hair matches the victim and was the likely weapon. The suspect faces burglary arson and larceny counts and is slated for a murder preliminary hearing Friday in Whitemarsh Township.

Train Crash Kills Two Pennsylvanians in Florida

A freight train struck an automobile at a crossing in the Florida East Coast area killing Evelyn Albaugh of Warren Pa and Ernest Albaugh aged about 40. Police say the couple were vacationing in Florida. An eyewitness Louis Rizza of Dunia said a loud plane noise drowned out crossing warnings.

Maid Tells Jury Of Finch Murder Case

A 5 year old Swedlish maid testified of a violent night at the West Covina home as Dr. R Bernard Finch and Carole Tregoff face murder charges to gain control of a $750,000 estate. She described being struck, ordered into a car, and hearing shots after Mrs. Finch fled the scene.
