Seven Corry Students In District Band Festival
Seven Cory area high school students join 178 others at Conneautville for a three day district band festival led by Bertram W. Francis guest conductor from Mansfield State Teachers College. Public concerts are scheduled at the Conneaut Valley school on Friday and Saturday at 2 pm with admission one dollar. After Friday’s concert, musicians will attend a dance hosted by the Conneaut Valley Muse Boosters Club. Saturday features skating at Toyland and a banquet at 5:30 pm in the school cafeteria.

Six men from Cleveland Tennessee area died in a head on collision on U S 63 near here when a rail car tank truck and a passenger auto collided. The tanker driver Albert Poh of Tiffin Ohio survived with injuries. Weather was clear and roads were dry. Fire Kills Father and Five Children in Brandon House
A Brandon father and his five children perished in a two story home fire that started about 2:30 a.m. Mark Kelly escaped but died trying to rescue his children. Victims named were Jim 16 Dennis 12 Pat 14 Mary Lee 10 and Peggy 3. Mrs Kelly fled and neighbors prevented her from re entering. Police Chief Charles Rossum said the fire victims suffocated. All bodies were recovered. Brandon, population about 400, lies about 160 miles northwest of Minneapolis.

West German rocket troops begin training this month
