Mert A Nishély, a Civil War veteran, died at home in West Wayito after a month of illness. Survived by eight children incl Mrs Albert Hamlin of Liberty. three brothers Alanson Holts, Mino Valtoy, Hurry. A member of the Givi wae and Androwa Pow No. 7 ALR. Known for his long service and local prominence.

Mrs Anna Pfeifer of 1100 Warrington Ave Pittsburgh says Tanlac restored her health after a long illness. She describes severe stomach pains weakness and nervous fatigue and notes improvement within days with appetite and strength returning. She reports others nearby also experience benefits and claims Tanlac is sold locally in Corry by lead apothecaries.
The Brokenstraw Valley chapter of DAR met at Mr. J Desmond home on Pleasant Street for an afternoon program led by a flag salute and an Independence Day notice discussion. Thirty members attended as two new names joined, bringing total to 47, with plans for a High School Reference shelf from the American Statesmen series.
