Captain Elton Jukes of Columbus reported missing weeks ago is now known to have been killed in an air attack over Germany on October ... A note from May Charles Jukes informs his parents of the death. Jukes, born July 15 1920, enlisted December 1943 after Columbus High School and trained at Ocala Greenville Cruse Field and Cruelle Field. Survived by wife Mary Charles Wyatt, parents Mr and Mrs Ross Jukes, three brothers Eugene Edgar Leonard and Murlyn, and grandfather David Oakley Tripp. Memorial services to be held January 5 at United Brethren in Christ Church, Corry. Relatives and friends invited.
