Federal agents and state troopers led by Pittsburgh police staged the city’s most productive liquor raids. Explosions at Hercules Powder Company mills in Valley Falls caused heavy damage with bolt buildings destroyed. Reports said no injuries were present, while shattered windows and doors affected homes across the town as rumors spread about the blast cause and extent.
Lloyd Heyitt, 47, who killed a woman and her young son at Conneaut last year, faces execution tonight at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Columbus.
