PSP Probe Details Several Early Morning Traffic Crashes

State police investigated a hit and run after a Route 89 collision near Stewart Road where Diana Fargo, 20, of Columbus reported a southbound truck crossed the center line at 5:20 AM. Fargo sustained $200 in vehicle damage while the driver fled. A separate Route 6 three vehicle crash west of Union City at 4:50 PM left two vehicles damaged by about $400 each after a chain reaction involving Philip Hancock and Anne Marie Sundean. An Allen R mmilyea of Warren, eastbound on Route 6 at 2:30 AM, hit a deer, skidded, and struck a Bell Telephone underground cable box, causing the vehicle to run off the road.

Corry School Directors Hold Backgrounder Meeting

City police to study new vehicle code in two session rollout

Corry Police Department will undertake a 40 hour course on the new state vehicle code ahead of its July 1 1977 enactment. The program, funded by Federal Highway Safety Funds, will train about 10 000 officers statewide beginning in February with 2.5 pages of code prepared by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Training and Education. Trooper Albert Vota will lead Corry area sessions.

CAHS Student Breaks Leg In Fall At School

A 15 year old Corry Area High School student fell on ice outside the building while awaiting a school bus. She suffered a broken right femur and was transported to Corry Memorial Hospital. Hospital spokesmen said she underwent surgery the following morning to set the limb.

Ford Proposes Income Tax Cut Amid Corporate Relief

President Ford proposed a 10 billion personal income tax cut with corporate tax reductions and a 5.1 billion rise in personal Social Security taxes. The plan mirrors last year’s proposal, including 2.5 billion in corporate cuts and targets middle income taxpayers while Congress awaits Carter’s stimulus plan. Ford projects a 227 per year saving for a family of four earning 15,000 dollars as spending cuts may follow in the budget.
