Government to Build 6,000,000 Homes Amid War Mobilization
President Truman outlined an emergency goal to provide 6 million new homes if private enterprise cannot. He said the government would make every agency and channel available to meet housing needs, calling housing the most difficult postwar problem. The plan envisions rapid construction to ease prewar housing deficits and support families during reconversion.

Firemen At Clymer Save Home and Community Farewells
Firemen at Clymer saved a home as a farewell event for Mrs. JF Spencer who left town to supervise a milk plant in Elmira. The community hosted a diner at the Methodist Church, and several local clubs and churches held events including Christmas programs and family visits. A note of Spencer’s transfer to Elmira in April marked the major change, with many local friends and church members expressing thanks for her service. Local obituaries and notices mentioned J min Schinmiin with funeral services at the Spitzer Funeral Home, and a series of personal updates covered travels, teaching posts, and family news among residents of Clymer and nearby areas. The record includes multiple names, places, and events from the community.
