About 488 gallons of distilled moonshine and a large mash quantity were seized after an explosion started a small fire. The house, curtained to suggest occupancy, had a lighted Christmas tree in a window and appeared used as a rooming house recently with two furnished rooms. The study cites rising handling costs and freight charges as key factors, noting wage growth and transport costs.
