Un Cease-Fire Effort in Korea Abandoned
The UN cease-fire committee announced it has abandoned hope of a satisfactory Korea truce after 16 weeks of talks. The report, read to the General Assembly committee, cited no useful recommendation at this time and outlined terms once proposed by General MacArthur’s UN command including a 20 mile demilitarized zone north of the 38th Parallel and one-for-one POW exchanges.
