The Rex Theatre raised the weekly $250 prize to $275 after Harold Pratt of Sherman failed to appear for the drawing last night. Awards will run Thursday through Saturday with a Teen Age Frolic resuming tonight at the Junior High gym for grades 9 through 12, organized by the Recreation Committee.
A Niagara Falls woman, Mrs. Filomena Rizzo, was killed instantly in a New Year’s Day crash on Route 62 one mile south of Kennedy. Driver Vincent Pallad, 26, and passengers Rachel, 23, and a two year old boy were uninjured. coroners ruled accidental death with severe injuries to the victim.
The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis announces a major 1954 campaign led by Basil O'Connor to inoculate thousands of Pittsburgh children and extend February inoculations to every state. The plan, costing about seven million dollars, will test a new polio serum on 600000 to one million school children.
