Transport Aground Off Fire Island With 2100 Aboard

A Northern Pacific liner went aground off Fire Island at two o clock this morning. Efforts to float the big vessel were unsuccessful. About 1700 wounded Americans are being transferred to a hospital ship and may need further evacuation.
