Corry State Police arrested an 18 year old Columbus area youth and his juvenile companion after a six month probe into a string of burglaries and larcenies. David L. Sadowski of R D 1 Columbus and the teen were charged with one burglary and four larcenies. Loot valued at more than 150 dollars, including tires batteries wheels and auto parts, was found at Sadowski’s home. Sadowski awaits arraignment before Justice Perry Mead. the juvenile remains in parental custody pending juvenile action.
Lt. Col. John H. Glenn Jr. remains hospitalized after a bath room fall and concussion in Columbus. He will stay at Grant Hospital through Saturday or longer, postponing his planned campaign start for the incumbent Sen. Stephen M. Young’s seat and canceling all planned appearances during the week.
GOP appointed staff in the Erie County courthouse face a drive to register voters with a six registration quota per employee. Gov. Scranton sets a target of 674 new Republican registrations by March 9, and county officials are urged to report weekly progress and press employees to recruit.

An 18 year old Corry youth, Robert Snodgrass of 52 East Pleasant Street, reports being stabbed in the stomach by an unidentified man. He was treated at a local doctor’s office after being carried there from his home porch by his mother in law and later questioned by police.
A six year old girl identified as Marie Barr was dragged to her death when her coat caught in a car door on a country road near her farm home in Grand Meadow Minnesota. Driver Edward Dormody 47 said he looked back, released the girl later, and stopped a mile farther to let another boy off the back seat. The boy reported the incident to his parents.
City Planning and Zoning Commission Parking Authority and City Council convene Tuesday at 4 p m in council chambers to hear from three redevelopment authorities Joseph Fahey Kenneth Sibal and Bruce Crawford about forming a central shopping plaza. The session at the Municipal Building ends around 5 p m and moves to the Jim Rose Steak House for continued discussion with retailers invited to attend the Dutch treat portion.
Tim Mayer of Dalton Pennsylvania, nephew of Governor William Scranton, was killed during a Longford circuit practice in Tasmania. Mayer, 26, died en route to hospital after a violent crash described as Australia's worst car racing accident. The governor expressed distress over the loss of his nephew on his birthday weekend.
