Pike group eyes two routes for turnpike extensions
Senate Highways Committee will meet with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to discuss two proposed parallel routes across northern Pennsylvania and a central path. The Sharon to Stroudsburg option is viewed as more viable due to cost concerns over tunneling and northern routes. A widened Route 6 plan is also urged for inclusion in federal highway funding.
