Reno Divorce Under Test in County Court
A Reno divorce validity challenge opened in Erie County Court as Carl J. Grande seeks to nullify the Nevada divorce and remarriage of his former wife Mary F. Grande Keasey. The petition alleges she and her California husband remarried after a Ripley New York marriage in 1899 and a Reno divorce six weeks later in 1945, obtained while Nevada residence was not genuine.

Erie February 28 Erie County School Directors Association held an all day session in the courthouse to consider a law requiring highway traffic to stop while pupils are unloaded from school buses. H H Denison cited Ohio and New York models reducing accidents. A second resolution urged changing state reimbursement for teachers salaries. About 760 directors from across Erie county attended. C G Davis presided in Donald G Norris absence. Margaret Crossman led a noon meeting. Plans to elect a new two superintendent for four year terms were discussed for April 9. Maurice Kolpien expected to be reappointed county superintendent. Denison likely to be renamed assistant.
