Bomb hoax at ECPC plant prompts police search

Police and fire crews combed the Erie County Plastics Co. plant on Plastics Road after two employees reported a bomb threat just after 2 am. Jefferson Ohio testimony by two shooting victims at the Kingsville Sunoco murder trial suggests Preston Fayne Jr may not have fired the first shot or been the trigger man. Cosner and Andrus testified about the holdup at Interstate 90 Sunoco, with Cosner unsure who fired the first or second shots. Attica inmates cleared after prosecutor blasts police inquiry

Clear Inmates At Attica. State Supreme Court Justice Frank R. Bagger dismissed charges against former inmates Thursday after special state prosecutor Alfred T. Scotti attacked the police investigation into the 1971 Attica uprising. He called the probe deficient and said lack of evidence prevented charging officers. The 39 inmates and hostages died during the five day siege ending Sept. 13, 1971.
