Talon Receives War Contracts and Shifts to Substitutes
In Meadville, Talon Inc. received war contracts for items producible on its own equipment and began using copper substitutes for slide fasteners. Labor director Sidney Hillman said the plant’s conversion and new orders justify suspending special contract preferences for Meadville and nearby small industrial communities. County to Fix Tax Rate at Seven Mills Saturday
BRM Feb 26 The county tax rate will be continued at seven mills for another year. Commissioner Thomas W Flately announced that day after meetings with all office heads who cooperated by trimming their budgets.
