Tilusions of Spring theme for a fashion show and luncheon sponsored by the YMCA Newcomers Club on March 21 at 2 pm at the Corry Motor Inn. Public invited. Cochairmen Mrs. Jeff Heacox and publicity chair Mrs. Michael Porvaznik. Fashions by The Reed Shop coordinated by Mrs. Gertrude White.
Bradford and Corry community clubs hold meetings with postponed events and new schedules. Activities include the College Women’s Club at Elks Lodge, the Women’s Relief Corps all day session, the Carter Road Gang extension group gathering at Mrs Arthur Boldt’s home, and Easter project plans for baskets and quilt blocks. Members urged to attend at Salvation Army Citadel and Corry Area Garden Club gathering with recycling craft, plus notices of birthdays and travel news.
Five children Amy Abigail Gordon Edward and aeeeee celebrate their third birthday with parents Mr and Mrs William Kienast in Liberty Corners New Jersey. The family marks the occasion as they recall Miltonic wisdom about worthy deeds and teaching.
Janet Brown, a Corry Area High School senior and editor of The Beaver, was chosen February Girl of the Month by a faculty committee. She participates in French Club and the American Field Service, plans a college career, and will be honored by the Corry BPW Club at 7:30 p.m. in the Moose Lodge Colonial Room.

A birthday event noted as well as birth announcements from Corry Memorial Hospital for a daughter of Lynn and Ruth Hall Austin and a son born to Alan Vanderweele and Lots Batten. Princess Anne returned from Africa to Wiltshire to visit Mark Phillips then headed toward London after a day at the Phillips home. A Durban court hears a woman defendant claim she is 33, prompting a judge to note she would have to have been convicted at age one and five respectively. Classifieds note for a house for sale.
About 78 people fell ill after attending a buffet luncheon at the Bethel African Methodist Church of God dedication in Germantown Philadelphia. Most were released from six city hospitals. two children were admitted, with several others kept for observation. Authorities suspect food poisoning likely from a three item menu turkey ham and macaroni and cheese prepared by church volunteers.
