Extra Cost for Zip Codes Not Guarantee Fast Mail
A nationwide AP test shows adding ZIP codes often fails to speed delivery. In six cities, 65 percent of late-afternoon mail arrives faster than mid-morning mail, with Monday mornings usually best and Friday mornings worst. Local and long distance timing varied, and ZIP usage did not consistently improve speeds.

Prostitution ring leaders jailed in Pittsburgh area
In Pittsburgh area motels three men and one woman were sentenced to prison terms for running a prostitution ring. Walter Kress, 31, the ring leader, facing 10 to 20 years to start after Lewisburg release. Valdemar Cattani, 27, three to six years. Catherine Sargent, 41, two years. Anthony Cattani, 20, three years probation. A 2½ year old mother testified she was coerced under threats to her child’s life.

Penn Central Refinances 50 Million Notes in Europe
Penn Central International N. V. refinanced a 50 million series of notes, issuing 10 percent notes due June 1, 1971 to replace maturing notes. The notes will be secured by claims the subsidiary has against the parent. If no new financing is obtained, bankruptcy may follow. The railroad, Penn Central Co., remains its main asset but cannot satisfy parent claims due to bankruptcy filing.
