TCHECK POINTS ON PIKE LISTED

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission gave assurance the proposed Erie to Pittsburgh throughway will not run far north, according to Erie Chamber spokesman. Dr James Weaver said he received the assurance in Harrisburg and expects final word soon. The check points outline a boundary south of Nickle Plate tracks at North East and Harborcreek, near Wesleyville, Rearsarge, McKean, Fairview, and lines toward Girard and Springfield, with final alignment to meet the Ohio Turnpike. The study group has not taken a stand on the route but will review it later.
