Local FSA funds stretched to aid Erie County farmers

County BSA committee chaired by J. A. Barney reviews all new Farm Security Administration applications to determine if local bonus or other credit agencies can provide financing after exhausting FSA funds. If approved, loans aim for the smallest amount that meets wartime food goals to conserve funds. The committee also checks if three year borrowers have moved to commercial credit and will refer them to local agencies if supplementary credit is needed. FSA funds for the year ending July 1, 1944, are expected to run out within one to two months unless other local financing is found.
