Erie County CWA payrolls stay intact amid future orders
Erie County administrator Vicary says three thousand seven hundred sixty five workers will stay on the CWA payrolls until further notice from federal officials. He notes this is ten more than last week and that total district employment reaches 9048 with 3765 under Vicary, 61 under state aid, and 142 supervised by census. When quotas fall below actual work, furloughs will begin with families with multiple workers released first and rural workers later, demobilizing the program by May 1 as federal grants wind down.
