Oil City Feb 20 Frank Itarlo an Italian laborer for the Pennsylvania Railroad was left with a painful bullet wound in his leg at Oil City Hospital. A fellow worker pulled a gun and fired three times at a supper box car alter a dispute over a job. He was evacuated to the Oil City hospital as police and detectives seek the assailant.
Warren Pa February 20 A star outfielder from Clarendon Magou Sherwood Mages remains with the Philadelphia National League club for three years at the same annual salary as last season. He agreed to the three year term after failing to reach a higher figure, expressing satisfaction with the deal. Magou Sherwood led the league in hitting last year with a .444 average and won a prominent trophy showcased in Clarendon.
At Peb. 81-ars Joseph Liederberger attempted to kill his wife by drinking laudanum. Her husband wrestled the bottle away. a physician treated her. She is not in danger. The couple arrived two months ago to work on the Portoleum bridge. She had taken laudanum for toothache and drank a teaspoonful from the bottle before being stopped.
The Ajax Iron Works in Corry introduces a new tandem gas engine with a front cylinder extending the rear, allowing a rear valve to be transferred if the front cylinder fails. Jury deliberated from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning before reaching agreement.
