Britain aims for 273 mile per hour speed record

Daviona Beach Hla Feb 20 That question of how fast Sir Malcolm Campbell can go was answered last night by the British racing diver. He hopes to reach 273 4 miles an hour and smash the world record he set last year by about 80 miles an hour. He said he would be satisfied with one second off his 1932 time. The rough wet beach, low tide fog and uncertain conditions threaten the attempt. Campbell must cover the distance in 18.175 seconds for 278 24 miles an hour. The exact timing and feasibility remain in doubt as the beach is not favorable.
