Anticipated County Take Dwindles
Erie County commissioners faced a budget shortfall as the Board of Assessment and Revision of Taxes projected personal property taxes at 440,000 for 1968 instead of 475,000. To balance 6,089,663 in expenditures they cut or eliminated major 1966 programs including road improvements and data processing, while plans for a metropolitan water study and shared Erie Coach Co. debts remained untouched.
